Oh P.P.

tantrumPresident Prissy Pants just got his ass kicked by a girl ! Lawmakers in the House voted 218-212, mostly along party lines, for a binding war spending bill requiring that combat operations cease before September 2008, or earlier if the Iraqi government does not meet certain requirements. Murtha looked like he was going to weep with joy, Pelosi was radiant and afterward in his news conference Bush looked as if he was going to stomp off to his room like a spoiled brat and pitch one hell of a hissy fit just as soon as he made it clear that he was going to veto this bill. Let him veto it. I’m just happy that there is finally someone standing up to him, not giving him his way and letting him know that contrary to what he thinks, he is not the cock of the walk !

Of course the Republicans think that passing this bill is the same as admitting failure in Iraq. Well Duh ya think ? Voting for the bill were 216 Democrats and two Republicans — Wayne Gilchrest of Maryland and Walter Jones of North Carolina. Of the 212 members who opposed the bill, 198 were Republicans and 14 were Democrats.

The bill marks the first time Congress has used its budget power to try to end the war, now in its fifth year, by attaching the withdrawal requirements to a bill providing $ 124 billion to finance military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan for the rest of this year.

I guess this should have been the game plan all along. Hit the bastards in the pocket book because that is about all that they understand and as for Bush and his personal agenda with Iraq, like everything else he’s done in his life, it is just another con game and up until now he has gotten his way and come out on top, he doesn’t like to lose so now we have to watch and wait to see how he handles this new prick to his ego which is obviously much more fragile and easier to deflate than his political balloon.
